World Tai Chi & Qigong Day (WTCQD) & WorldTaiChiDay.org educates millions worldwide about Tai Chi & Qigong's benefits, how to find local classes, how to get the most from those classes, and we consult health care, corporate, government and educational institutions about
integrating these health tools into society at all levels. (More on our Mission later).
World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
occurs because thousands
worldwide who share a common
vision of hope & healing for our
planet and her people come
together each year to organize
events in 65 nations.
Purposes of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day:
1) To educate the world of the profound health & healing benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong for individuals, communities, and nations
2) To thank Chinese culture for creating and sharing these profoundly valuable gifts with the world
3) To bring together people across racial, economic, religious, and geo-political boundaries, to join together for the purpose of health and healing, providing an example to the world.
4) To give a powerful example of how the power of the internet can be used to foster global health & healing.
I'm in awe of how well these intents were accomplished -- shared vision is powerful chi!
Yours in Wellness, Gratitude and Oneness,

Clarification on WorldTaiChiDay.org and World Tai Chi & Qigong Day (WTCQD). WTCQD is a global event celebrated in over 65 nations each year and promoted in events calendars, by public health organizations, city, state, and federal government agencies, etc. Events are organized by people, groups, schools, universites, etc. worldwide.
However, global events just don't materialize out of thin air any more than storks deliver babies. Giving birth is a messy, hard, often somewhat thankless effort, and it would be naiive to think a global event comes into being without years of enormous work, financing, and a relentless dogged belief in a vision.
That has taken the form of a several hundred page organizing tool which enabled it all to happen, an organizing center known
worldwide as WorldTaiChiDay.org.
WorldTaiChiDay.org is where Bill Douglas spent months creating the free Organizing Kits, Media Kits, Press Releases in 20 languages, and later the "Medical Research Library," etc. etc. which would be used by groups worldwide eventually to educate millions about Tai Chi & Qigong, and their local schools and classes.
However, at first when he built this template, it was like Kevin Costner's character in "Field of Dreams," where Bill saw a global healing movement, when others only saw an empty field. Like that character Bill plowed under his livelihood, by spending months and years neglecting his own local Tai Chi & Qigong classes, in order to build this field of dreams where one day millions would come to find local teachers and thereby change their lives and the world forever ...
"Our Tai Chi programs continue to grow and our numbers of Tai Chi Schools continue to grow at a phenomenal rate and I feel your efforts are fueling this growth worldwide and we are all in awe of what the World Tai Chi & Qigong Day has done."
-- Dave Pickens
National Chairman Chinese Martial Arts Division; United States Amateur Athletic Union

WorldTaiChiDay.org is where Bill later spent months and months and months of full time effort, in the early years hand posting each individual school or organizing group worldwide who wished to be a part of WTCQD leading up to the event, and then where after the event he would spend several additional months each year working full time, recieving, sizing, editing, and posting photos of events from around the world, in order to build the vision required to inspire people and organizations worldwide to join in and help build what has come to be World Tai Chi & Qigong Day,
At times, as Angela watched in impending financial horror as Bill's 18 Tai Chi classes per week, fell to 6, 5, 4 ... Bill seemed about as rational as Richard Dreyfus's character in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," who neglected his career as he rushed to fill his house with shrubs and dirt, trying to form a vision that was just on the tip of his mind's tongue. It drove him, he felt it, and it seemed irrational. But today, because Bill and Angela walked through fear, breathed through fear, they were able to partner with tens of thousands worldwide who were ready for such a vision that would educate millions about health, healing, and mind expansion tools that could help our world profoundly.
To those who see no value in this, Bill would still look insane, and Angela would still look like a fool for following him into this adventure. But, to those who share the healing vision, this dangerous financial path Bill and Angela walked together does mean something . . . to more and more each year.
"Thank you for the incredible service WorldTaiChiDay.org is providing for all who are ready to accept it.
I can't thank you enough"
-- Mamie in New York

Perhaps Bill & Angela's breathing through fear, and walking toward a vision that was not yet real, is a step of faith toward where our entire world is heading ...
"Tai Chi will play an important role in global awakening"
-- Eckhart Tolle, author of A New Earth
(an Oprah's Bookclub pick)

Although the original vision for
the global healing phenomenon was
envisioned by Bill Douglas
(Aquarian, Art/Sociology major,
aka air head of the family), it was
the dogged belief of Angela
Wong-Douglas, who'd seen as a
young girl what Tai Chi had done
for her Mom, that was the steel
which would eventually ground her
husband's airy vision into the hard earth of reality. For Angela was the one who made it possible, being the Virgo, Business Management Major aka realist of the family.
It was Angela who faced the terror of using their life savings to finance a global healing event, and finding ways to meet the monthly bills while her husband spent endless hours promoting Tai Chi & Qigong teachers all over the world, rather than attending to the garden of his own local classes.
Angela saw many months of debt
grow, as the global movement grew,
and millions worldwide became
aware of life changing benefits
Tai Chi & Qigong offer via
WTCQD and the media it
garnered . . . and she
walked through her fear and
stayed the course, because she
knew it was a worthy effort.
"Your organizing of this global event has been very helpful in gaining media attention for the benefits of Qi Gong & Tai Chi and in creating awareness of our school and classes.
New people come to our World Tai Chi & Qi Gong Day event every year."
-- Howard Fraracci - Qi Gong teacher, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
